The Karaim Folklore Group Dostłar meaning 'Friends', from Warsaw, was established in 2003. Initially it formed under the name Sanduhach, meaning 'Nightingale' with Karaim youth from Poland and Lithuania. In Autumn 2006, the Polish section of the ensemble, changed its name to Dostłar.
In 2003 the group performed for the first time in Trakai near Vilnius (Lithuania). Since then, the ensemble has traveled to many minority folk festivals in Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine.
Through dance, songs and performance, Dostłar brings alive traditional Karaim folklore and ancient culture.
